Cookie....
my companion...my friend...my soul-mate of 16 years.
Born sometime in July of 1984....she made her journey to Rainbow Bridge on June 26, 2000.
....16 years in our lives....FOREVER in our hearts.....
Cookie's Legacy of Love
One day back in 1984, a motorist pulled up to the corner and put a little 8 week old puppy out of the car and sped off. Luckily we saw this happen and immediately took this sweet little scared pup into the house. Although she was scared, she was readily willing to shower us with affectionate kisses and lots of love. I named her Cookie, after a wonderful dog from my childhood.
A trip to the vet proved that Cookie was reasonably healthy, except for a nasty case of worms, fleas and ear mites. When she was 6 months old, she was spayed. She immediately bonded with our resident rescue beagle, Princess. Over the years we have added 6 cats to our family and with the arrival of each one, Cookie gently welcomed them into the family.
Over the years, Cookie was my constant companion. She was my port in the emotional storms of life...my comfort after a nightmare....
my confidante who heard all my secrets and never gave me away. She was my warmth on a cold winter night and a constant source of joy and entertainment to the entire family.
Her passing has left us with an enormous emptiness in our souls, one that won't ever be filled. We are left with our memories, treasures that can never be erased from our hearts. Her Legacy of Love will be carried on through our work in helping other animals who may cross our paths.
